Restorative Visit and Recall

Restorative Visit and Recall

OfficeIf your child has been diagnosed with a cavity, our doctors are trained in methods to help children feel comfortable with dental treatment. Based on our evaluation of your child’s needs we may recommend nitrous oxide, oral sedation, or IV sedation.

Cleaning and exams are recommended every 6 months. We will make the appointment 6 months in advance. You will receive a postcard reminding you of your appointment.

You are invited to be with your child during initial examination. We simply request that you be a silent observer so that we may use this time to establish a rapport with your child. Please do not be upset if your child cries, children are often afraid of anything new, and crying is the normal reaction to that fear. When you schedule your child’s first visit, we will mail you a health form to complete and return. The first visit consists of a complete dental exam and cleaning which will include evaluating the health of the teeth, gums, and child’s bite. X-rays will be taken as necessary to assure a comprehensive examination. At the conclusion of the visit the doctor will explain what she has found and what treatment she recommends.
